Top Five Recipes for Losing Weight

Markets are flooded with all kind of fad diets. Diets that promise nutrition and speedy weight loss. However, with so many options it's almost difficult to tell what will work and what not. After all who doesn't want an attractive and fit body. A body which makes you confident and alluring to others. There are many of us who either don't have the time or money to buy attractive diet packages. According to experts, there are no short-cuts to weight loss. Exercise alone won't make you shed those extra pounds. What you need is a diet which is non-expensive and with-in reach. A little tweak in your daily diet can yield better results than following an extreme diet for a short span. Let's look at some of the recipes that we can incorporate in our everyday lives and can benefit.

Lentil Pancakes

Sounds strange isn't? Pancakes and lentils is a weird combination. However, this high protein, non-fat pancake can do wonders in your weight loss plans. All you need is a lentil (preferably moong daal ) of your choice, soak it overnight with few juliennes of garlic and herbs. Grind it into a smooth paste, add salt and other seasonings and make into delicious pancakes. You can have these with mango chutney or mint sauce.

Couscous Salad

Couscous is a staple diet in many North African and Middle Eastern countries. It is a low-calorie substitute for rice, packed with proteins and fiber. Steam your regular couscous, once it cools down, add chopped cucumbers, bell peppers, onions, and cherry tomatoes. For dressing nothing works better than lemon juice, minced garlic and a dash of olive oil. Last but not the least serve with fresh parsley or cilantro.

Vegetable Stew

One of my favorites weight loss recipe is vegetable stew. It is packed with antioxidants and fiber. What you need is small onion, garlic, and vegetables of your choice. Once you saute your onion and garlic add vegetables of your choice, including cabbage, radish, beans, and carrots (finely diced) and bring it to boil. Once it boils, add seasonings of your choice and simmer for another ten minutes or so. Once cooked garnish it with fresh cilantro leaves.

Detoxing Green Smoothie

You only need three ingredients for this refreshing and detoxing smoothie. Take about two kiwis nicely peeled and cut into chunks, about 200 gm of fresh baby spinach and lemon. Blend all three in a blender either with almond milk or water. Once its blended and of a right consistency add ice cubes and you have your very own detox smoothie. For better results have it empty stomach early morning or at night before going to bed.

Zucchini Noodles

Zucchini noodles is another great recipe to add to your weight loss routine. Loaded with vitamins and nutrition of zucchini, its a perfect comfort food. All you need to do is cut zucchini into noodle strips and bring it to boil for a minute. In another pan, drizzle a spoon of olive oil, saute thinly chopped garlic and bell peppers.  Once the vegetables are translucent and release their juices add your noodles and stir it well. Serve the noodles with fresh basil and flakes of Parmesan.These recipes have proven to yield excellent results. Remember both exercise and diet are imperative to attain and toned and fit body.
