The Key to Success in Life: Consistency
Every successful person and anyone who has done something impactful in this world have one thing in common. It goes very well with perseverance. The key to success is consistency.
What is consistency?
Consistency is the quality or fact of being consistent: such as a: the quality or fact of staying the same at different times. Amazing how just knowing the definition of a word can give us insight and more understanding. The importance of consistency comes from really knowing who you are. See Newton, Einstein and many more knew who they were and what they wanted out of life. Just because they faced many setbacks and failures didn’t take away from who they were when they started working on their innovative inventions and discoveries. The reason why consistency is important is that it denotes on who you are and what character you have. It shows people that you mean business. It is easy to express interest in recycling and do nothing about it. Now, once you start recycling you don’t only do it for a few days, you continue making it a part of who you are. When people know you, they automatically understand that you are a recycler because you consistently do it. When you don’t do, recycling one-day people are going to wonder if you are sick or if something happened to you.
Defining your character
One important thing is that you can also use consistency to see who you are. If you are having trouble in succeeding in life, look at what you do every day. Are you consistently complaining? Are you consistently snapping at people when they say something to you? Being constantly late and they are a few more examples that can denote what you are consistently putting out there and being. When you recognize those negative attitudes and behaviors that are consistent in your life, you will either ignore them or commit to change. We have the ability of break those consistent bad habits with new ones. God has given us a new life when we accept him. If we consistently seek him and read His word, we will see that we will be able to change. Able to adapt to new things. Start being consistent in kindness, love, patience and you will start seeing the change. Start small, so you don’t overwhelm yourself. Being consistent is not given up at the first sign of trouble.
Consistency & Perseverance
When we are consistent, and we add to that perseverance, oh that is a winning equation for life! You consistently work in you and through everything you persevere. It means not giving up on who you are. People are going to say whatever they want but when you are confident in your abilities and what God has said about you. There will be no one getting in your way that will make you turn back or coward in fear.Perseverance allows us to move forward even in the midst of a battle or conflict; even when things look so bad that you might just consider turning back, you push on. One thing I love hearing about success stories is that they saw what they wanted before they got there. They work consistently to get there, and they persevered even when they were rejected and counted as nothing. Today we can see many stories like that in the secular world. As Christians, we should be able to have bigger success stories than that. God is the one who will make a way for us. Consistently seek Him and persevere in your walk with Christ. One amazing example of consistency and perseverance is the movie The Pursuit of Happiness starring Will Smith. A great example of a man that saw beyond what everyone saw in him and consistently push forward and persevere until achieving his goal. If you see, he never changes who he was either he just became a better version of himself. Success in life is possible. Be consistent in your efforts and persevere even in hard times.
