Kingdom Corner: Keeping the Faith in Troubled Times

There are times in everyone’s lives that things start to get troubled and tough. How can you keep the faith in troubled times? God’s promises to never abandon or forsake you, just like he promised to his Son, Jesus.Hard times are going to arise; a job loss, a. car accident, overdue bills, or you lose someone you love. All of these and more can have any sane person wondering where God went in the midst of chaos. However, God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His promises stand, even as nations rise and fall. Therefore, whatever you have going on, your Father is bigger, stronger, and can outlast it. He is the Lion of Judah that roars and enemies fall. So, make it your first order to go to God when things start getting shaky. The longer you wait, the more unstable your faith will become. God will help you, but you must tell Him you want it. He won’t burst into your life unless you want Him there. In His Word, the Lord says:

The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Deut. 31:8. NIV

And in the Psalms

My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life. Psalm 119:50. NIV

And in Romans

If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

God shows that He is an unchanging God meant to help you with your sufferings. So, no matter what you are going through, trudging through, or overwhelmed by, God is there ready to support you as He has said in His Word since the ancient of days. Do not be afraid to cast your needs before the Lord. Then, have faith that the Lord will provide for you. You will find out, that He will answer your needs, but maybe not in the way you had imagined. So, rather than worry after you pray, be on the lookout for those blessings!
