Healthy Lifestyle Tips to Keep You Lean & Healthy
Want to live a healthier lifestyle? Are you looking to drop a couple of pounds and live your best life? Here are a few ways you can do it.
Yoga connects the mind and body. Try taking out 30 minutes a few days a week to strengthen its connection. Controlled breathing is always important, but I feel like it’s more essential when you start doing more of the complex moves like the headstand (Sirsasana). What I love about yoga is that I don’t even have to leave my house if I don’t want to thanks to some of the great yoga instructors on YouTube. Yoga with Adriene is my favorite so far.
Cardio & Exercise
Get a good run in every day or every other day to keep your blood flowing. You can start at your own pace & gradually run further each day. Along with cardio, you could also hit the weights. No pain, no gain. You don't even need a trainer, just a little motivation! There are tons of workout plans on Pinterest.
Detox & Diet
In no way am I saying that you have to eat a certain way all the time, but you definitely need to know how your body reacts to certain foods & when to detox & cleanse. Get some fruit & veggies in your diet. Fast from meat for a week to rest your body. Sometimes we need a break from digesting these kinds of dense foods. Get out your blender & make a yummy smoothie with all your favorite fruits & veggies. Drink heaps of water to stay hydrated & fuel your system.
Tea is Served
Tea is a good way to relieve stress, keep you thin, or just help you relax. For example, chamomile tea is good for unwinding at the end of long days or after a good yoga session & will provide a good nights rest. The great thing about tea is that there are numerous types of teas for several ailments.
'86 The Sugar
Try to avoid caffeinated drinks like soda that are filled with sugar. If you need a little fizz in your life, go for a ginger ale. Avoiding the drinks with excess sugar like soda will keep weight off of you. You can lose so much weight just by dropping soda! Replace it with water, Gatorade, tea, or just slow your intake.
