As the summer months are approaching, there are a ton of shows coming to the end of their seasons. A few shows will be making their return this summer, but most shows are preparing for the fall months to rank in the viewers. It’s true that the TV gets viewed all year round, but in the fall more people are at home and want to watch great TV.In today’s society TV has never been this good everyone wants to be on a TV show. Years ago actors wouldn’t think about doing TV now they are breaking their necks to do so. In Hollywood, there’s a saying,

“Movies make you famous, but TV shows make you rich.”

This is the golden era of television, and there are so many anticipated TV shows to be returning.

Games of Thrones

One of the most anticipated TV shows is HBO’s Games of Thrones. The show is an American fantasy drama with an ensemble cast. The story arcs include competition for the leader of the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms, with other noble families struggling to be free from the throne. According to Biography.com Games of Thrones was created by David Benioff and D .B. Weiss and was adapted from the fantasy novel series A Song of Ice and Fire by George Martin. The show is critically acclaimed for its great acting, characters, and story, but is also criticized for its nudity and violence. Games of Thrones has gained an international fan base and is one of the most viewed shows on TV. Its seventh season premieres July 16th on HBO.

Power

The network Starz street crime drama Power is another show that many people can’t wait to see. It stars Omar Hardwick and Naturi Naughton as Tasha and James St. Patrick. They are a loving married couple that will do anything to keep their children safe. James St. Patrick nicknamed, "Ghost" is an owner of a popular New York nightclub owner. He and his partner Tommy are also leaders of an illegal drug organization. Ghost struggles with wanting to live a legit or illegal life as he realizes he wants out of the drug business. He also tries to keep his marriage intact when he begins having an affair with his high school sweetheart who’s an AUSA agent. The fourth season of Power premieres June 25th on Starz.

This Is Us

The NBC breakout hit This Is Us is one of the most family friendly anticipated TV shows on the air. Dan Fogelman created the show, and it stars Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, and Justin Hartley. The show centers on a husband and wife who had triplets and their dynamics as they deal with their family problems in the past and the present. This Is Us has been nominated for numerous awards and will have its second season premiere this fall.

American Horror Story

The FX horror drama anthology American Horror Story will begin its seventh season in September. There is no official word on the specific theme of the season, but there will be characters based on the 2016 Presidential Election. Each season Ryan Murphy, the creator of American Horror Story, follows a theme such as The Coven, Hotel, Murder House, and Asylum. There’s a huge fan base that is waiting with anticipation for what stories, spooks, and spins the season will bring.

Big Little Lies

Big Little Lies is an HBO series that was adapted from the New York Times Best Seller Big Little Lies. It stars Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon. According to Fandom, the show paints a picture of a town fueled by rumors, conflicts, secrets, and betrayals among the relationships between people who seem to have the picture perfect lives. There is no release date, but the second season will premiere later this year.

The Walking Dead

The widely popular AMC horror drama series The Walking Dead is one of the most highly rated TV shows. According to AMC.com it was developed by Frank Darabont and is based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. It stars Andrew Lincoln who awakens from a coma and observes zombies overrun the world around him.
