I’m almost ashamed to admit it, but there is nothing that I love more than a nice scented candle. Before leaving a store, I make it a point to stop in the candle aisle. Candles are the perfect, inexpensive gift to give someone who doesn’t want something big or flashy. If you’re looking to give someone a candle as a nice gift, here are some that you should consider:
I came across these a few months ago when I was in Wal-Mart of all places, and I absolutely love them! The scents are light yet fragrant and the candles are soy based. When you light them, you don’t get that sulfur smell like you do with other candles.
These candles are aromatherapy based. Each candle is designed to add a bit of fragrance without being overwhelming as you go about your day, whether it’s doing chores or taking a bath. These candles are also soy based.
Flameless candles are a great alternative to actual candles. If you’re thinking of gifting a candle to someone who lives in an apartment or has small children, opt for a flameless candle instead. They still provide that nice glow on a cold winter’s night and some are even fragrant. My mom and I purchased a set back in August and they are amazing.
One of the newer trends we’ve been seeing over the last few years when it comes to candles are wax melts. The difference with these is that you don’t burn the wax, rather you place the wax into a wax warmer. As the warmer heats up, it melts the wax and release the fragrance. Check out Bath and Body Works for cute wax warmers and amazing scents!
*CAUTION: When the wax melts, it is hot. Be careful to plug these in where young children or pets cannot get to them!
Some might say that giving candles as gifts tells the person that you know absolutely nothing about them. I personally disagree. I think giving someone a candle as a gift is thoughtful, especially if you know they like candles. Candles are also great ‘starter’ gifts. As you gradually get to know a person and their likes and dislikes, you can stick with the candles or move to something different. To me, candles are a ‘neutral’ gift. Try out these candles to gift and you won’t be disappointed!
