Today we’re going to discuss the Parable of the Lost Sheep. Jesus explains to his Apostles that all people are precious to him. Many people wonder why Jehovah (Psalm 83:18), our Father, doesn’t do anything about the state of our world. We see wars, poverty, hunger, disease, and hatred everywhere. We will discuss one of the reasons why God waits to wipe out evil and usher in Paradise.
Parable of the Lost Sheep
“What do you think? If a man has 100 sheep and one of them strays, will he not leave the 99 on the mountains and set out on a search for the one that is straying? And if he finds it, I certainly tell you, he rejoices more over it than over the 99 that have not strayed. Likewise, it is not a desirable thing to my Father who is in heaven for even one of these little ones to perish.” Matt 18: 12-14.
God Loves You
The Father loves us all as the precious sons and daughters of God. He has allowed mankind so much time to turn from their sinful ways and draw close to Him. He has the utmost patience because God is Love. God doesn’t just feel love for us; He is love itself. As the hairs on your head are numbered, God knows everything about you and your life. He is that genuinely interested in you. To prove that God loves us and is in control of His plans for us, He sent His Son as a ransom sacrifice. But 2000 years have passed since Christ’s coming, you may ask why God is waiting so long to wipe away every tear.
Seeking Lost Sheep
God waits this seemingly immeasurable time because He doesn’t want anyone to perish. He wants to make sure that everyone has a chance to come to know Him and draw close to Him. Choose to draw close to God and become one of His little ones and tell others about His great love, because God is waiting patiently for you, for me, and the world to embrace Him in love, and truth.
