Have you ever had that feeling when you’re shopping online and the item you wanted is gone? You stare at the screen thinking about the people that purchased it before you. You endlessly scroll through Google hopelessly trying to find something like it. It’s a feeling equivalent to having your heart drop from the sky. To avoid that feeling here are some ways to stay organized while shopping online.
Online shopping is about searching for products we like and adding an endless amount of items to our cart. It’s fun! Little do we know that tomorrow that cart full of shoes will disappear, putting us back to square one. There’s that heart sinking feeling again. Now you have to re-shop, scrolling through page after page and that’s not so fun. To keep yourself out of this situation, create a folder and bookmark the items that you want. This way the page itself is saved and you can refer back to it when you want to make a purchase.
Check On Inventory
Sometimes we want to buy things online but not at the moment. Since all your items are bookmarked, you’re able to monitor them up until the day you get paid. If it says there’s there 3 or more in stock don’t worry, you’ll get a chance to purchase it. If it gets down to 1 left in stock, you may want to consider using a credit card or forget about it. It’s always good to check on the item that you want so that you can make a decision on whether to take it or leave it.
Online shopping is unpredictable. One day you find yourself clicking on the bookmark and your item is gone. This can tend to happen often, especially if it’s on sale. Just because the page is missing from the website doesn’t necessarily mean it’s unavailable. Take a screenshot that includes the SKU number and picture as soon as you decide that you’re going to purchase the item. Since you have the SKU number you can call a local store that can help you check on the inventory of the product. This allows you to decide if you want to wait for it to be re-stocked online or purchase in-store.
Sign Up For Email Updates
So the item you want is temporarily out of stock but you still plan on purchasing it. Some stores offer the option to sign up for notifications via text or email to inform you of when the item is back in stock. As soon as your size comes back go ahead and get it! If you’re interested, you can even sign up for weekly updates on new arrivals so you can keep a close eye on what’s trending.
Check For Promotion Codes And Sales
Most stores online have promotion codes that will give you discounts on certain items. Make sure to check for those codes before purchasing, you might be able to save some money. When you’re shopping online especially around the holidays, you may want to wait before buying things full-price. A lot of stores have annual sales and it’s not fun when you purchased a regular-priced item and a couple of days later it goes on sale. To avoid this mark your calendar to check on your items a couple of days before a holiday. You might be able to snag some stuff on sale! Speaking of discounts, some stores even have a 10-15% off student/teacher discount so look out for those as well.
