Being Grateful During Your Trial

Being a Christian does not mean that life will come easy. In fact, you will face trials. But how do we make our trials mean something in our lives? It is all about our attitudes during those troubled times. Yes, you will feel negative at times but if you can try to be positive during it all, it makes things easier to get through.

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. James 1:2-4 NLT

We are shown that through the trials of life, God molds us and makes us into stronger Christians and stronger individuals. This only happens if we let God work within us. I look back on the dark times of my life and although, it wasn’t something I would want to relive, it was a time that God used to mold and make me into who I am today. That is something I wouldn’t trade for the world.

Remember, also, to be patient during those times. Your darkness in your life may feel like it is never ending, but there is always an end to the darkness.

God bless those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterwards they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him. James 1:12 NLT

Waiting patiently is not always the easiest thing, especially through the hardest part of our lives. However, waiting patiently also builds us individually. It allows us to learn such a patience in our lives that we can later use for future purposes. Perhaps it will help us to be patient through another trial.

During your trial, don’t forget not to worry. God is not going to leave you.

For I hold you by your right hand- I the Lord your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.’ Isaiah 41:13 NLT

It may feel like you are completely alone but God won’t leave you and He won’t give you anything you can’t handle. The last verse I want to share with you is Philippians 4:13.

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. NLT

You can make it through the tough and dark times and you won’t have to do it alone. Be grateful for those trials and excited for the person you will be made into because of them.
